Counselling, as a tool, can be used very broadly in many different situations.  You might use counselling to help people process their emotions or prepare them for something, such as an HIV test.

Counselling thus consists of different skills, processes and principles, and it is important to have a good working knowledge of these in order to counsel effectively. This  course will look at these areas and present you with an opportunity to grapple with each concept.
