NACOSA was part of the Community Led Monitoring Research Workshop, convened by IAS – the International AIDS Society – took place in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 20 to 22 May. The primary objective was to facilitate knowledge exchange and seed collaborations between community-led monitoring (CLM) implementers and researchers working in the same country or region towards advancing CLM and research and building the evidence base for CLM. The workshop successfully facilitated knowledge exchange and collaboration among CLM implementers and researchers, highlighting the value of structured opportunities for CLM implementers and researchers to interact and learn from each other. The publication plans represent tangible steps towards building the evidence base for CLM. The outcomes of the workshop contribute to the broader goal of strengthened understanding and adoption of CLM as an effective mechanism to improve quality and effectiveness of HIV related programmes.
