Household Health and Social Care Assessment

The Community Household Health and Social Care Assessment was commissioned by the Western Cape Department of Health and Welfare and conducted by NACOSA in eight communities in Cape Town. Key findings were shared with stakeholders in a feedback workshop in February 2026. The Assessment looked at the health and social care needs of 805 households using surveys, interviews, focus groups, and a policy review to evaluate Community-Oriented Primary Care under fiscal pressure, donor withdrawal, and post-pandemic strain.
