As part of the Global Fund grant (2013-2016), NACOSA commissioned an independent process evaluation of the Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) Programme to assess the functioning of the programme and learn any lessons that might inform good practice. Maria Stacey presented an abstract poster at the International AIDS Conference 2016 in Durban. FROM BROTHELS TO PARLIAMENT: Lessons learnt from scaling up a rights-based sex worker HIV programme looks at the Red Umbrella Sex Worker Programme, funded by the Global Fund from 2013-2016 which combined bio-behavioural interventions, as well as social and structural interventions such as collective mobilisation, and stigma reduction activities. The abstract examines programme data, a good practice workshop with sex workers and a final programme evaluation to understand the outcomes and impact of the programme.
