The New Vehicle Fleet Call for proposal process has now been completed. NACOSA would like to thank all the suppliers that submitted tenders for the vehicle fleet. Ageing with HIV

HIV and AIDS disproportionately affects young women and girls in South Africa, so most of the research, information and HIV/AIDS interventions are increasingly focusing on this group. But what about older women who become HIV positive and those who were infected as young women but are now ageing on antiretroviral treatment? Monitoring sexual offences

The Shukumisa Campaign‘s Monitoring Report provides a great overview of the implementation of sexual offences legislation and policies by the South African Police Service (SAPS) across the Eastern Cape, Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng. Shukumisa: Monitoring the Implementation of sexual offences legislation & policies, Findings of the monitoring conducted in 2013/2014  found that “The services available at police stations across the country continue to vary from station to station, and vary significantly between provinces.”

Celebrations as PrEP roll-out begins

On 1 June 2016, the National Department of Health announced the sites for the initial roll-out of PrEP and test and treat for sex workers. Four of NACOSA’s Red Umbrella sub-recipient organisations’ sites will be part of this exciting and ground-breaking development in the HIV/AIDS response. PrEP, Test and Treat roll-out sites announced

Following the landmark announcement in the Minister of Health’s budget speech that pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and Test and Treat will be provided to sex workers from 1 June, the National Department of Health has assessed and approved the following sites for the initial rollout: Esselen Street Clinic in Hillbrow SSWP Wellness Centre in Soweto Sediba Hope Medical Centre in Tshwane TB/HIV Care Clinic in eThekwini The North Star Alliance Trucker Wellness Centres in Musina (Limpopo), Pomona (Gauteng), Ngodwana (Mpumalanga), Pongola(KZN), Upington (Northern Cape) and Hoedspruit (Limpopo).
