MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Nosibusiso is only 11 years old but has driven a powerful message of compliance amongst her family and across the Yabonga community. She was first introduced to Yabonga when she accompanied her mother to collect her TB treatment at the clinic. But long after her mother passed away Nosibusiso continued to journey - alone and on foot - to the clinic in order to collect her treatment. She's a girl of few words but her dazzling smile and her determination to take her medicine faithfully is inspiring many others to do the same.

Supporters

The struggle against HIV and AIDS is not hopeless. NACOSA members are making a real difference – turning the tide together, a little bit every day.

Our valued supporters from government, the private sector, trusts and foundations and the public are helping us to provide the support and encouragement they need to keep going, often against very considerable odds.

Why support us?

  • As an established and well-known umbrella body, NACOSA has an excellent reputation in the Western Cape and beyond.
  • NACOSA is a support service to the ultimate beneficiary (the NGO or CBO) - we don't compete for the same service-based funding as our members.
  • Our capacity building work is fully comprehensive, providing a range of services and continuous support.
  • We have a strong network, sharing information, updates, referrals and quarterly consultative meetings with over 300 members in the Western Cape.
  • We work in close collaboration with government and other partners but remain an independent voice within the sector.
  • We match our support to the developmental stage of the organsations we help.
  • We develop contracts around specific areas of need for a given period of time and set clear indicators for measuring outcomes.
  • We promote collaborative relationships, joined-up working and shared learning.
  • As a network of service providers, NACOSA can mobilise partners to get involved and share their expertise with others.
  • Through our regional structures, we are able to monitor issues on the ground, track the implementation of the Government’s AIDS plan and lobby around these issues with representation on regional, provincial and national forums like the Provincial AIDS Council.
