Mobilisation It will only be through strengthening partnerships, enriching and expanding responses on the ground, within communities, that we will begin to address and reduce the impact of this epidemic.
Community based organisations are better placed to create and sustain local, indigenous HIV campaigns and responses. NACOSA mobilises the sector by forming strong consultative, networking and supportive forums; providing network news and information; and bringing the sector together, acting as their voice with government.
Our HIV/AIDS mobilisation work seeks to: - Mobilise HIV/AIDS service providers in the Western Cape by supporting networking, shared learning and co-operation.
- Foster a co-ordinated response to HIV and AIDS in the region.
- Promote dialogue between government and civil society.
Through this work we hope to: - Improve communication, information sharing and participation amongst HIV/AIDS service providers.
- Strengthen and unite HIV/AIDS forums in the rural and urban regions of the Western Cape.
- Provide a platform for critical debate and discussion around topical issues amongst HIV and AIDS service providers.
- Improve interchange and dialogue between HIV/AIDS service providers and government. See our CBCC Community Based Care Coalition terms of reference.
